About the team
Forty years of concrete, and a studio in San Francisco to teach it.

Buddy Rhodes

Dario & Ed Baldoni of Concrete Countertop Solutions

Chloe Kobernuss
Buddy Rhodes has worked concrete since the 1980s. He trained in ceramics first, then founded Buddy Rhodes Studio and Buddy Rhodes Concrete Products, the decorative concrete company that helped define the category before it sold in 2012. The material behind this studio came out of that career: lightweight, fiber-reinforced, worked like clay, and simple enough to learn in an afternoon.
Concrete Craftworks is a partnership between Buddy and Dario Baldoni, president of Concrete Countertop Solutions, who brought the materials expertise and the resources to build a working studio around it. Buddy shapes the curriculum. Teachers and studio techs run the floor. CCS supplies the mix, forms and finishes that make the advanced tracks possible.
Rounding out the studio is Chloe Kobernuss, a San Francisco ceramic artist. Her ceramic practice today spans sculpture, tableware, lamps, and mirrors, shown this year at Fog Art & Design Fair with Works In Progress. She teaches, runs workshops, and manages her own studio practice. She brings that same eye for clay to concrete, exploring a new material through a familiar lens.
